Beautiful Lake Tahoe

No matter what time of year it is, there are always a ton of activities to do in Lake Tahoe. From the changing of the leaves, to the snow, to the warm summer days, Lake Tahoe has is all.  In the summer, there are sun soaked beaches where you can rent water toys and play in the glistering water. Top-notch restaurants surround parts of the water as well as luxury spas. Along the lake there are many trails for the hiker enthusiast.  Skyline Trail Hike and Cascade Falls are two popular hikes people rave about in Lake Tahoe. One must see spot in Lake Tahoe is the Vikingsholm Castle.

The Vikingsholm Castle dates all the way back to 1929, when it served as the second home for Lora Josephine Knight. Mrs. Knight would visit this home in the summer along with the tree house she had built on the Fannette Island in the middle of the bay. The tree house is only accessible by boat, Kayak, and canoe.  This castle has 38 rooms which was only made with natural materials from the Lake Tahoe area. No nails, spikes, or pegs were used in the making of this house. The only things not from the Lake Tahoe area that were used to build the house is the Swedish windows that she had shipped over.

There are endless amounts of water sports to do in Lake Tahoe. If you’re an adrenaline junkie there is water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing and more! If you are on the opposite side of the scale you can paddleboard into the sunset, kayak, or fish! Lake Tahoe has visibility up to 75 feet below its surface with more fish than you can imagine making any day a catch! No matter what you are into you can find something you will enjoy at the beautiful Lake Tahoe.

My family just recently visited Lake Tahoe this month for a little getaway. We stayed at the Beach Retreat and Lodge at Tahoe which was absolutely wonderful. My three kids decided to be on the more adventurous side and do wakeboarding and parasailing while my wife and I decided to go kayaking. We picked up some gifts for family that could not make the trip. On the gifts we attached a Penless American Flag sticker  with a video of our kids parasailing since it is close to the Fourth of July!
