Easter Celebration

Easter this year is at my house with all the extended family. I thought it would be a good idea to send Penless Greeting Cards as invitations to all the guest.  I sent them out about a week ago so everyone would get them on time.  On the greeting card, there is a QR code where I uploaded a video inviting them to our house on Easter day. My wife and kids were also in the video. I know most of my family has the Penless app so it was easy for them to view the video.  For those who don’t have  Penless, they just had to download the free app to view the video on the QR code.  I got a ton of phone calls letting me know how creative the invitation was. It’s fun, simple, and personal.  Penless has different cards to choose from.  I chose the one with the yellow flowers.  I thought that one was perfect for Spring.

When everyone gets here on Easter, I want to host a few different Easter egg hunts. We have such a variety of ages that will be at my house, that I would like all my guests to get into the spirit and hunt for eggs. It will be both fun and memorable.  The eggs for the little ones (some who even have a hard time walking through the grass), will be the colored eggs my kids decorated along with some chocolate ones.  The teenagers, whether they like it or not, will also participate in their hunt for eggs.  I will probably do plastic eggs for them and fill the eggs with lip balm, nail polish, gum, candy, Penless Go Anywhere stickers, ect…  For the adults, the Easter egg hunt will bring us back to when we were kids.  We may be over the Easter Bunny, but I think the competitive side of many of the adults will come out and it will be a lot of fun.  I will probably fill these eggs with movie tickets, candy, and maybe a few gag gifts.

We will celebrate Easter with a traditional dinner including ham with apple raisin sauce, little red seasoned potatoes, buttery garlic green beans, Strawberry salad with poppy seed dressing and corn pudding.  For the kids, we even made a side of macaroni and cheese.  For dessert, my wife made a carrot cake with salted caramel-cream cheese frosting.  It is sure to be a hit.

With all the preparation that is going into this Easter celebration, I used the Idea Board on the Penless app to help keep me organized.  I could put down menu ideas and stuff I needed to buy.  The Penless app sure makes it easy to keep all my ideas in one place.

Easter is the only time it’s okay to put all your eggs in 1 basket!
