Spring has Sprung

Yay! Spring is finally here. For most of us, it is time to pack away those scarves and gloves and find our sandals. From spring cleaning to planting our favorite flowers, spring is the perfect season to do activities before the hot summer. Along with the season of spring comes longer hours of daylight. This calls for evening walks, gorgeous spring sunset pictures, and great weather!

Spring is a great time to start on some DIY projects to brighten up your yard.  A couple projects I have come across is a colander hanging planter and a planter made out of an old tire.  The colander planter is easy since it already has the holes to let the water drain.  Just add soil, your flowers, possibly some spray paint to your colander, and some string and there you have it, a beautiful hanging plant to start the new season. The tire planter is pretty much the same but you will have to drill a few holes in the bottom of the tire for water drainage.  Super easy and super fun.

Another way to kick off spring is with a seasonal recipe. An easy spring recipe to make is pea pancakes! This might sound weird, but can be versatile for a meal or snack! These pancakes are both savory and sweet for the perfect taste. Ingredients for this recipe include: 1 cup of shelled fresh peas, 1 teaspoon of salt, 3 large eggs, 1 cup of cottage cheese, ¼ cup of flour, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 4 scallions, and finally a half-stick of butter. One of my favorite things to do is to throw a spring fling get together with some of my closest friends. This is an annual gathering I like to host where we make different DIY projects, have tasty spring  treats, and it is a great way to get everyone together. This year, I sent out my invitations and attached the Penless downloadable potted flower. On the downloadable, I took a short sneak peek video of one of the DIY projects we will be making. What a great way to send out invitations with a little flair. Thanks to Penless I am able to make my friends thrilled about the party before it even starts.
