The Colors of Fall

As the temperature cools and the air turns crisp, there is a brilliance of colors that develop over the Autumn foliage.  The blaze of orange to cinnamon red fill the landscape.  Fall is a time for warm, rich colors and their hues have associated emotions.  Here are a few that you may want to know:

Red – an emotionally intense color. It stimulates people to make quick decisions.

Orange – represents positive emotions such as joy.

Yellow – associated with happiness along with cheerful and optimistic feelings.

Brown – brings a sense of comfort and calmness.

During this time of year, we light our pumpkin spice candles, wrap ourselves in our favorite sweaters, sip hot apple cider and crave everything that makes us feel warm and cozy.  Even if you did not get to go on vacation this year, why not go on a drive to see the brilliant canopy of the Fall colors.  If you live in a cold climate, a drive in your climate-controlled car is a perfect activity to see the trees that were green just a few months ago, explode into a sea of orange, yellow and red. You may even find a few apple picking orchards or stands that are selling apple cider.   This is a fun afternoon for that the whole family can enjoy.  There will be many photo opportunities along the way to get those perfect Fall photos and videos. Remember you can upload those photos and videos onto a Penless sticker to capture those memories.

The heat of autumn is different from the heat of summer.  One ripens apples, the other turns them to cider.” – Jane Hirshfield
